It always seem to surprise me how much time flies by; it just sneaks up on me. We officially only have one week left in Pua before we switch to our next ministry. Crazy to think! I feel like we just got here, like we were just preparing for Christmas, like we were just headed to Chiang Mai. But nope…all that stuff is done. I am faced with one more week — one more week with the Grace House girls and Pastor, one more time to see my friend Aje, one more trip to the hill tribe, one more time to teach at the "Orange School", one more time to see people from the Life Center, and one more church service. I have been making myself redirect my thoughts when I think about all of this because I filled with such sadness to have to say goodbye. At the same time though it is not sadness I feel but thanks. I am thankful for all of this; I would rather have to say goodbye than to say that I never knew any of this.
On another note…here is a video about our little vacation to Chiang Mai. We visited another team that is doing ministry there. It was great to see them and to also visit one of the largest cities in Thailand. At times I definitely felt like we were the country bumpkin cousins that came to visit the big city.
Here is also a link (http://www.shethailand.org/) to the ministry we will be partnering with next. Around January 15th the girls and boys are spliting up to do ministry seperately. With the other 11 girls, I will be headed to Phuket to work with the SHE Ministry that ministers to women that work or have worked in prostitution.
I love you and the Church for nurturing the woman in you. As you have heard from mom, we pray for you and your future husband. Continue to play duck, duck, goose and the rewards will never cease. As I type I look up at the world map and see you are experiential learning and teaching in everything you do. Your travels and memories can never be taken from you. We all enjoy the narratives and videos.
Love, Dad

such great perspective! and really, so much of our lives are “just one more…” We all need to better savor the “now” of our lives and allow those moments to sink into us deeply and richly as you are doing…many hugs and much love from Georgia, momma ali
“I would rather have to say goodbye than to say that I never knew any of this.”
That just gave me so much perspective. I so needed that. Thank you, my dear.
Whose knows maybe the last trip to the Orange School, to the Hill tribe people, to see the children at the orphanage, etc. – they may not be your last. Even if they are your final events with these particular people or places we know one thing for certain, it is the beginning of many new first time events w/others who will be blessed by you and the AIM ministry.
Love you with the Love of the Lord, Mom
