I thought I would also introduce my team/family to everyone, as these are the people I am living with until mid-January. Our team name is The Current.

This is Brittany.

This is Hannah.

This is Roni.

This is Kyle.

This is Ryan.

This is Oy (our translator)…aka the Thai Princess/Bangkoker.

Here is what our week typically looks like:
– Sunday: church that Satman (male leader of Grace House) is the pastor at; afterward just a usually Sunday afternoon at home – lunch out to eat to give Nook (our mom) a break from cooking and time at home afterwards
– Monday: day off — consists of relaxing and exploring the surrounding area
– Tuesday: teaching English at a local school (we refer to this school as the “orange school” as we can not pronounce the Thai name)
– Wednesday: teach English at a school in the mountains & spend the night there
– Thursday: teach English at mountain school & then return home
– Friday: teach Engish at the orange school
– Saturday: spend the day with the Grace House girls — mostly consisting of visiting their families in the hill tribes but also just spending the day at home

  1. Precious Audrey, Ah, how nice to hear from you. Each day I anxiously look for an update. This is so helpful that you send photos of your team members. Helps me to feel more connected to them individually. How long of a ride is it to the hill tribe and about how many are there? Do you sleep in someone’s accommodations or by tent? Any problem w/head lice in Thailand like you had in Nicaragua? Your birthday is three weeks away! I hope you’ll get to do something to celebrate it. Seems more like you’ll be 31 instead of 21 when I think of all you are doing in life, but there is no way. It was only a whisper away in my thoughts that I held my precious babe in my arms.

Love on those Thai children just as I loved on you as a little one. It’s one of the purest forms of God’s love.

You stay close in my heart always. Love you with the Love of the Lord,
    Mom

  2. Audrey:
You hang out with some charming people. That is your way of discipleship and the way since the beginning, since we always become like the people we hang out with. I too am curious about where you sleep and stay while traveling about there. Also I am curious about the mosquitoes and critters that make life exotic or a pain. What new foods have you discovered? What delicious fruits?
Georgia has been getting COLD with the first real nights of winter. Yesterday there was ice hardened on the cars and grass. Today my favorite moment was watching a flock of 50 geese flying south in their huge V formation, honking as they flew by under the half-moon before sunset… breath-taking.
Tomorrow I will go to celebrate a Quinceanera at a nearby Church because the priest there is dying. I do not know the family but they are leaders in the Hispanic community and really want to honor their daughter, so I will help out. We do what we can.
    Cheers, Uncle Bob
